This panel will introduce attendees to preprints--a mechanism for publishing your manuscript prior to publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Some noted advantages include the ability to increase visibility via a green open access version, rapidly release findings, and solicit feedback. Some scholars are resistant to depositing preprints because of fears of scooping, confusion over journal policies, and reluctance to publish prior to peer review vetting.
